Industry and production
In manufacturing, an outage may interrupt materials, processes and delivery schedules. Identify which equipment must continue operating and which processes require a controlled shutdown. Motors, compressors, pumps, welding equipment and process systems can create demanding starting currents or load steps. Provide the priority loads, switching sequence, permitted interruption and intended duty.
Data centres and critical IT
The generator, UPS, batteries, cooling and transfer equipment operate as one system. IT load alone is not sufficient; cooling, ventilation, pumps, security and auxiliary systems must also be included. UPS input characteristics, harmonics, charging, load steps and permitted voltage and frequency response require review. Redundancy terms such as N+1 should only be used when the project architecture has been formally defined.
Water, telecommunications and critical buildings
Pumping stations, water treatment, telecommunications and safety-related buildings may require automatic starting, defined priorities, remote monitoring, fuel autonomy and periodic testing. Motor starting and operational access can be more important than the largest available nameplate rating. Hospitals, high-rise buildings and other regulated applications may require additional project-specific standards and approvals.
Agriculture and remote sites
Ventilation, feeding, milking, pumping, cooling or processing loads may all be critical on agricultural sites. Dust, moisture, temperature, seasonal demand and fuel storage affect the configuration. Remote projects should also consider fuel logistics, maintenance access, monitoring and expected operating duration.
Construction, service and mobile work
The relaunch range includes portable generators from 2 to 20 kVA for construction, installation, service and other temporary applications. Check single- or three-phase loads, diesel or petrol, outlets, starting demand, transport and operating environment. German Generator does not offer rental or used generator sets, construction-site planning, event-power planning or onsite temporary-power services.
Diesel, gas or portable?
The current industrial diesel catalogue covers 5 to 3,300 kVA with eleven engine brands. Gas generator sets are separated into natural-gas and LPG ranges. Portable models cover smaller flexible applications. Fuel selection depends on duty, local supply, storage, site and applicable emissions requirements. Broad statements that one fuel is always intended for one duty should be avoided.
